My New Safetran Mechanical Bell!

Post by PlyingKibbles89 » Thu Jan 09, 2020 12:28 pm

I now officially now have a bell collection! I bought this one off eBay for $100 plus $60 shipping. Needless to say, it's a great bell, and sounds even greater!*

GE B40-8W's are the best. Well, uh, maybe with some exceptions...?

Nice bell! I also own a safetran mechanical bell as well along with a griswold mechanical bell that needs some work.
Proud owner of a safetran mechanical bell and Griswold mechanical bell along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.

afetran mechanical bells are the best I reckon. I used to live in the Melbourne suburb of Croydon and the Cool Store Road crossing used to have what I believe were Safetrans but I think I read elsewhere at this site that they have been replaced by E-bells. Now I live not far from Heywood where the Mount Clay Rd crossing still has a Safetran. Here's a video of it that I found, which I believe is the work of a fellow forum member: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpaKnzE ... =32&t=603s
