Re: What type of bell?
yes, that's it. I'm not talking about the base, i'm talking about the bottom part of the bell. It seems wider than this one.

I think it's just a different angle. Google's cameras are much higher than mine is.flat train wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 8:12 pmyes, that's it. I'm not talking about the base, i'm talking about the bottom part of the bell. It seems wider than this one.

Re: What type of bell?
Possibly? The main way one tells them apart is by sound, so I can't say for certain without hearing it.flat train wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 4:23 amIs this a GS type 1? https://www.google.com/maps/@36.2018962 ... 312!8i6656

Well maybe, because the bell was there in 2007, so possibly.freebrickproductions wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 9:21 amPossibly? Re: What type of bell?
GS Type 2s started production sometime around the year 2000.flat train wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 11:49 amWell maybe, because the bell was there in 2007, so possibly.freebrickproductions wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2020 9:21 amPossibly? Re: What type of bell?
I'd say somewhat uncommon? They aren't exactly the easiest e-bells to find, especially since they were an earlier e-bell with a somewhat bad design that hasn't been made in probably over 20 years now. However, the GS Type 1 was essentially the first e-bell to become "popular" with railroads (I'm guessing due to it having a rather cheap price compared to other e-bells at the time), so there's probably easily hundreds of examples of these still in service in just about every state in the US, if I had to take a guess.
They/Them for me, please.

Re: What type of bell?
Okay, is there any way I could tell if it is a gs type 1 without it ringing, say looking at it from the ground, and also, do they still make gs type 2s?freebrickproductions wrote: ↑Sun Mar 29, 2020 2:55 amI'd say somewhat uncommon?
