Locations of ACTIVE GS Type 1s.
These bells aren’t rare, but are uncommon and many signal fans like their sound. The difference between the GS Type 1 or2 is that the screws on the side of the cap are closer to the middle of the cap, while GS Type 2s and 3s are almost at the bottom of the cap: Here is an example:
GS Type 1:

GS Type 2:
https://www.google.com/maps/@38.5743944 ... urce=apiv3
Another good way to tell is to see how it faded. If you can see a little bit of extremely light green, it’s a type 1. GS type 2s used white shells instead of green shells.
A general rule of thumb is, if you can see a bit directly under the screw on the side of the cap, it’s a type 1. If not, it’s a type 2 or 3.

Bells go "ding". Lights go "flash". And the WCH Gate Mechanism at Kirkwood Road goes "chigRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr".

Re: Locations of ACTIVE GS Type 1s.
I know a couple of gs type 1s that exist on the KCS Mexico Sub. 2 of which I've filmed over in Independence, and a pair in Blue Springs I have yet to film in action.
Harvard Ave #2, Independence, MO
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.0849,-9 ... 6656?hl=en
Scott Ave #2, Independence, MO
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.0832666 ... 6656?hl=en
And lastly, Main St in Blue Springs, MO
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.0184697 ... 312!8i6656
https://www.google.com/maps/@39.0184188 ... 312!8i6656
Not sure how many are still in service on the Mexico Sub, but these are the only known gs type 1s I know of that are in service. I'm sure there's more along the line somewhere. I know for a fact there used to be a 3rd gs type 1 in Independence on the old Selsa Rd crossing, but sadly that crossing was closed up and ripped out in favor of the Little Blue Parkway expansion. The city built the overpass right by the crossing and had no choice, but to rip out the signals. Still a shame the crossing had to go.

This crossing has been out of service for some years, and still has a chance of reactivation. Just confirming, is this a type 1? https://www.google.com/maps/@33.9893779 ... 384!8i8192

Re: Locations of ACTIVE GS Type 1s.
Was able to confirm a few days ago that these crossings all have GS Type 1s:
https://www.google.com/maps/@32.4784499 ... 312!8i6656
http://www.rxrsignals.com/Alabama/R-Z/Verbena/CR24/
http://www.rxrsignals.com/Alabama/A-F/Deatsville/CR7/
http://www.rxrsignals.com/Alabama/A-F/Coosada/Coosada/
Sadly, the Safetran bell at AL 49 in Franklin, AL, is almost dead as it only clicks.

Re: Locations of ACTIVE GS Type 1s.
For the Canadians out there, here's two I've heard in action:
Perth St. Brockville: https://www.google.com/maps/@44.5917226 ... 312!8i6656
Hall Rd. Ottawa: https://www.google.com/maps/@45.3734756 ... 384!8i8192

If there are infinite realities, one of them is where all crossings have teardrop bells.
