Re: A-frame/Wishbone gate locations
Not sure if these crossings have been posted or not, here is some interesting crossings in the UK that has Wishbone gates. I really like how unique all of these level crossings is designed.

Yea, the UK still has a large number of crossing with wishbone gates at them, especially older AHB installs. Not as common as their newer rounded single-arm counterparts, but a lot more common than here in the US. Here's also an MCB-CCTV (Manually Controlled Barriers monitored with CCTV cameras) crossing with Field & Grant wishbone gates, which are much less common than the NRS(?) (National Railway Supplies) AHB (Automatic Half Barrier) wishbone gates you posted above:

It's not really much of the Wishbone gates because I know half of UK crossings are Wishbones, but it's the wooden base that the Wishbone gates are attached to is what got me interested.freebrickproductions wrote:Yea, the UK still has a large number of crossing with wishbone gates at them, especially older AHB installs. I want to say that they use a concrete post that the gate mechanisms are attached to. At least some of them do, that's for sure.TheSignalMan2000 wrote:ToledoRailfan wrote:Those are a common thing in the UK.It's not really much of the Wishbone gates because I know half of UK crossings are Wishbones, but it's the wooden base that the Wishbone gates are attached to is what got me interested.freebrickproductions wrote:Yea, the UK still has a large number of crossing with wishbone gates at them, especially older AHB installs. Reminds me of the nearby line in Redlands, where a wigwag once stood.NathanFromEngland wrote:Hemet, California.
