Sounds like a WCH type 2 electronic bell there.

After hearing it a second time, I couldn't tell. It kinda sounded like a 2.5 to me, hehe.
Also, note that the pilot light is still lit on the old relay case...

I compared with the audio clips I have on the 102 page. It sounds closer to a type 3 now, then 2.

Surprised at the rather slow flash rate... usually newer signals (at least most I have seen) flash quickly. Does anybody know... is there a set guideline on how quickly the lights are supposed to flash?

The 2009 MUTCD says the flash rate per minute is between 35 to 65.
I was checking older MUTCD books, and found those rates to be between 30-55 back in the 1940s.

Viall Ave 2 flashes really fast (slightly more than 2 flashes per second), so I was kinda surprised, yet pleased with the speed they set these lights to.

- Here's another video I shot to test out my new camera (the Sony). I was going out and I was leaving the house the train rolled by. I was going to try for Viall Ave. II, but there were cars there already and i wouldn't have gotten a good view of the signals, so I went to Broadway where there were no cars. Comes out rather well, and shows the changes made since my origional vid (the bell pattern and the light flash rate). The bells came out a lot softer in this vid, which is good because that's actually how quiet they are.
Sorry I didn't get it from startup, but that wasn't something I was aiming for, plus the train got there long before I did.

Good video. You got that signal very well, those ball LEDs work great out there. Good video.
