I think it was named after a guy with the last name of Slaughter.

Got another video of this crossing today. The gate mechanism on the right sounds much worser now.

Like the other two crossings I recorded yesterday, not much has changed here and still retains the rather noisy Safetran gate mech on this side. However, a bit surprisingly, the crossing had both gate arms replaced, and the gate lights were upgraded to RECO LED gate lights.

Got a video from the cantilever-side on 2-1-21, and no major changes have been observed here either.
