Jordan Road, Ryland, AL

Northbound signal: 6 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
Southbound signal: 3 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, 1 pair of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.

The gate on the southbound signal doesn't appear to lower all the way, which is probably why the bell at this crossing rings until the gates rise.

*originally recorded on 1-1-20*

Signal on the left: 3 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, 1 pair of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 6 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.

This was the next crossing I caught NS 365 at. Since I last recorded this crossing, NS has replaced both gate arms on the signals and the gate lights on the far side are now RECO LEDs, though the closer signal still remains all incandescent. Thankfully, no other changes have occured here and the Safetran mechanical bell still rings while the gates are down, interestingly enough.

*originally recorded on 11-1-20*

Signal on the left: 5 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran mechanical bell, a Siemens gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 6 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.

After catching NS 101 in Woodville, I chased it on over to this crossing. However, it had to stop at Asa to meet two trains, so 101 wasn't the train I'd catch here. That honor went to NS 22N, which had a nice pair of AC44C6Ms for power.

Since I last shot this crossing, someone ran into the gate mast on the far side, so NS replaced it with a brand new one. Interestingly enough, NS chose to install it with the front pair of lights still on it, so the far signal now has 5 pairs of lights. The Safetran mechanical bell here is still going strong and still rings while the gates are down, thankfully.
Also found a recording of a news report from 1994 that shows this crossing back when it was still just a pair of crossbucks, prior to the signals here being put-in in the mid 90s. Said news report also shows the old signals that were at Governors Drive and Clinton Avenue in Huntsville on the HMCR, including the US&S Teardrop bell the Governors Drive crossing originally had!
Here's the news report:

No major changes here as of 7-19-23:

Apparently this is one of three other crossings on the Memphis East due for an upgrade in addition to AL 65 over there in Paint Rock, with Moores Mill Road and Pratt Avenue in Huntsville also getting upgrades at some point. This one will apparently get an LED upgrade and will have either the bell here replaced and/or a new bell added to the cantilever on the far side, per some ALDOT documents and the local signal maintainer for NS. I guess time will only tell what the upgrade here will be, assuming it hasn't been done yet.

*originally recorded on 8-18-23*

Northbound signal: 6 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Southbound signal: 5 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran mechanical bell, a Siemens gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.

After I got NS 362 in Brownsboro, I went over to this crossing and set-up for NS 283. After a bit of waiting, I was able to get NS 283 once again, passing through Ryland this time.

Since I was last here, NS has replaced the gate lights on the far signal with a set of RECO LEDs. No other changes appear to have occurred to this crossing yet, thankfully.
