Got both sides of the crossing recorded today with some snow! Quite a contrast to the sunny summer shot that I got when I last recorded this crossing:

They/Them for me, please.

Well, as of 9-15-18, the gate arms and gate lights at this crossing have been replaced:

The shoulder signals now have NEG gate lights while the median signals have RECO gate lights, all of which are incandescent.
They/Them for me, please.

*originally recorded on 5-4-22*

Signal on the left: 4 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.
Far median signal: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
Near median signal: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Siemens gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG gate lights.

After catching NS 22N and the HMCR at Holmes Avenue, I decided to hang around and see if I'd get lucky with any westbounds. Thankfully, it turned out that there would be three coming in a row. After about 2.5 hours of waiting, the first of the three came through: NS 101 with an NS SD70ACC leading an NS ET44AC, a UP AC44CWCTE, and a UP AC44CW. The lash-up on this guy was pretty nice, though that leading SD70ACC easily had the worst horn I've ever heard. I'm fairly certain it's supposed to be a P5, but it honestly sounds more like a cheap whistle than an actual horn, lol.

As you can see, since I last filmed this crossing, there has been a pretty noticeable change here. It appears that, sometime late last year (as I first saw this change back on January 3rd), someone knocked-down the median signal on the closer side of the crossing here. As such, NS used the knock-down replacement signal they'd been keeping in the signal dump downtown as the replacement for it.
Said signal, as you can see, also features a rather tall mast signal which, IMHO, looks kinda odd at this crossing. Honestly, I'm kind of a bit surprised that it's able to fit underneath the Parkway overpass here, lol.
Thankfully, despite this upgrade, the crossing remains entirely incandescent still. Both GS Type 1s are still here as well, and still ring until the gates rise. Hopefully these things don't change anytime soon, but either way, I'm glad to have finally been able to get back to this crossing and record the new signal here. Apologies it took me so long to do this.
