The MI bell here sounds worse than how it sounded when I heard it last.

This crossing is on the border between Madison and Huntsville.

After I caught A04 at Madison Boulevard, I was able to chase them on over to this crossing to get it rerecorded as well. Since I was last here, the HMCAA did a few upgrades to this crossing, back in early-2022. Probably the biggest, yet generally least-noticeable (when off) upgrade here was the fact that all of the 12x24 inch lights here were upgraded to LED using LED bulbs inside the heads, which is certainly a bit unusual. Strangely, they didn't do the same for the one pair of Federal Signal 8 inch lights here, though those are also basically used to let train crews know the signals here are active. At about this same time, it appears, the HMCAA also did a bit of work to the bells. The closer signal had its long-dead WCH mechanical bell replaced with the current General Signals Type 3 e-bell, while the far signal had its dying MI mechanical bell repainted and rotated, though the MI bell still sounds a bit rough. Glad to see it's still hanging on though, however, as it's the closest MI bell to me these days, save for the one in my room of course.
