Sick e-bell in Japan
Found this on YouTube:
I must say, this is quite an interesting sound to hear from a bell! I wonder why it's doing that.
Also, a bit of interest is that this crossing uses the larger lights that are typically reserved for the overhead lights on cantilevers there, and the lights are also incandescent!

They/Them for me, please.

Re: Sick e-bell in Japan
Sounds like the tone or pitch or whatever raises and lowers for a bit at random intervals.
Re: Sick e-bell in Japan
Sounds like an electronic school bell!
Crossing pictures from Plant City, FL are finally here! viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2538
Re: Sick e-bell in Japan
I'm thinking maybe a little moisture in the circuitry somewhere could be the reason for that. I have a feeling WCH e-bells suffer from that same problem.

Re: Sick e-bell in Japan
Very true. It would make more sense to put the "brains" in the relay cabinet (with all the other sensitive equipment) and have just the housing with a speaker outside where it is exposed to the weather. If the speaker part got damaged it would be an easy trade out.ZachL wrote:Or all e-bells, at that.cabman701 wrote:I'm thinking maybe a little moisture in the circuitry somewhere could be the reason for that. I'm sure though if something like that existed it would be more expensive and require a lot more work to retrofit onto older crossings.
