Pedestrian Crossing, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ

Post by freebrickproductions » Mon Sep 18, 2017 8:33 pm

*originally recorded on 9-12-17*

Signal on the left: 3 pairs of Safetarn 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and Safetran gate lights.
Signal on the right: 3 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights, a Safetran mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, Safetran gate lights, and an L&W gate light.

This crossing is a bit of and odd one. It's located at the Ho-Ho-Kus train station and is located where it is to allow passengers to get from one platform to the other without having to go all the way down to Warren Avenue. As a result though, it has a few weird things like how the gate arms are mounted on only one counterweight arm. As a result of where the signals and gates are, the rear lights also have had their visors cut-down to avoid having them get hit by the gates and trains at this crossing, which makes them look a bit weird. It also sounds like the gate on the right-hand signal whacks one of the crossbucks when it raises due to a rather audible "thunk" near the end of the video.
