bad train horns

Can't have signals without railroads, so talk about your favorite locomotives, railroads and any other (non signal) railroad related stuff.

They have neutered the WES horns in an attempt to quell noise complaints. The damn thing went from sounding like a stuck pig with lungs to a stuck pig breathing through a straw.

Compare:

Original Horns sucked anyway. It's a simple 3-chime, manufacturer unknown.

Nathan 3-chime horn on loan from the P&W which I think sounds even worse.
You think your car gets bad mileage? SP 4449 consumes 10 gallons of bunker oil and 100 gallons of water every mile.

here's one of the best bad horns I have ever caught. It was at Court St in Maine. God I dont know what happened to it, but it really began squeaking when it got here.

 Not all the WES horns have been neutered. I believe number 2001 was left alone because I heard it today, belting away at full roar.
