Strange Accident Reports from the FRA.

Can't have signals without railroads, so talk about your favorite locomotives, railroads and any other (non signal) railroad related stuff.

Strange Accident Reports from the FRA.

Post by NathanFromEngland » Sun Jul 22, 2018 3:00 pm

I got influenced into making this topic when i was looking up accident reports.

Here is one from the Church Street crossing in Orlando, Florida (According to the accident report, the last accident there was back in September 2003, and the earliest accident at said crossing was in 1978.
Here is what it said.
PEDESTRIAN STANDING INSIDE THE SAFETY ARMS APPROXIMATELY 1FT FROM TRAIN TRACKS BENT DOWN TO PICK UP WALLET AND WAS STRUCK
IN HEAD BY TRAIN.///
Thankfully, the pedestrian was not killed, but injured, most likely the train was a local, considering it was pulling 23 cars and may've been going at a slow speed.
Considering risking your life over a wallet though, if it is in the middle, don't worry about it, on the rail though, then i'm afraid it'll be a goner, leave it to the train.
