Two UP signal maintainers check out a crossing in Auburn, IL. The crossing has WCH lightheads, WCH gate motors and 1 WCH m-bell (the other is WRRS). The signal maintainer in the foreground has been on the job only 2 weeks, while the one in the background has many years experience.

The crossing -- including the old, very rough crossing surface -- can be found on the site

Hopefully the one with "Many years of experience" is going to flip the upside down gate section on his end there correctly.

(And they are "Lightheads", not "frames")
Just the facts, ma'am.

UP has good maintainers out there, nice guys.
Most of the gates on the Springfield line are striped correctly. This is also the first time I've seen the damn HWP gates on Union Pacific for a one lane road looks stupid, too bad they can't pick thier own equipment.
Also note hes replacing the Auroa L.E.D. gate lights those things fade and turn yellow very fast and don't survive the heat well at all but they LOVE the cold.

I agree with the gates, looks like 3 section, 16 foot gate arms, what the hell?
Just the facts, ma'am.

Those "Lightheads" still look incandescent. Don't believe they are now though. And is one of the "Lightheads" on the closest signal even lit... or is it just the angle?

One day I'll fix the "frames" mistakes on my pages and change them correctly. I want to be as accurately on the pages as possible.

Same crossing... yes. But it does appear this month's picture is older because the lights were incandescent and in the snowy picture they are LED's.
