They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Ben Franklin
People who need a foot up their Ass affect the lives of many. There is still no cure for someone who needs a foot up their Ass, except a foot up their Ass
I speak my mind, if you don't like that oh well. I'll have you fill out a hurt feelings report and submit that to my office.

This signal was struck while the crossing and tracks were being reconstructed for commuter rail use.

A crossing signal morphed into wires and gravel?
Just the facts, ma'am.
Re: October photo of the month
I was thinking the same. Not even a base left that the signal was attached to?

Re: October photo of the month
I have a question about this month's theme. Can signals that go up (like in a brand new installation) at a crossing count, as long as it isn't complete? Would that count? If so, I can contribute this month with a picture back from 1987.

Okay then... Here's mine...
From 1987 of the former CA Highway 47 on-ramp to the harbor. The on-ramp was closed for a few months for a signal upgrade from gateless 12"x20" mast signals to 12"x20" cantilevers with gates.
SP crews were working on the upgrade in progress and here's the one picture I took of the upgrade:

Out with the old, in with the new. Old signal being dismantled, while the new is giving warning of it's first train.

Someone hit and broke the gate, and when it went up....
Someone hit and KO'ed the mech...
Before....
After I fixed it...
