Another bump (I'm on a roll tonight)...

Some guy is selling the guts of an E-Bell for a little more than it's worth.

If it had the clapper in it, that would be one thing, but almost $1K for the shell? :No1:

Why would somebody pay 900 bucks for a EMD Steel Bell for scrap, they're giving the owner his moneys worth.

They might want to melt it and use the steel for something.

This guy is dreaming. Wants $129 for this rusty old WRRS bell which is missing the rain shield and looks like it came from the bottom of a lake http://www.ebay.com/itm/WRRS-Western-Ra ... SwOgBZZXGh

Being in Australia, if I was to buy this bell the shipping alone would cost me $302.85 US, which converted to Australian dollars is currently $388.62. What a bargain :LOL3:

I also wonder if it came from this crossing, as it isn't too far away and had a WRRS bell missing a rain shield:

I think you could be correct there. It would certainly explain why the inside of the bell is rusted, I guess it was taking on water without the rain shield. Nice crossing too, it's good to see that they left the other m-bell in place.

This is WAY TOO MUCH FOR A CROSSING BELL! Not to mention that you have to go all the way to Illinois to pick it up.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Old-Wes ... SwZuRZ2ppX

Granted, the bell does look nice and all, but the WRRS m-bell appears on Ebay all the time. It's not rare, it's not unique, it's a regular old WRRS bell.

Also, unrelated, but for those looking for a mini bell, here's one up for auction at a reasonable price.
