Boron, CA RR crossings

Post by bnsflover » Wed Mar 16, 2011 9:19 pm

Well, my trip in the summer should be back on. I will be going up the Mojave Sub. A place that seems good to stop here is Boron. I have come up with four crossing choices. I will try to get the picked crossing(s) in action. Here are the two crossings in Boron that are ruled out:

CA 58 due to it being busy
20 Mule Team Rd. due to it being a spur.

The choices are already listed on the poll.
US 395:http://www.rxrsignals.net/California/A-C/Boron/395/
Boron Ave:http://www.rxrsignals.net/California/A-C/Boron/Boron/
North America Chemical Co.: http://www.rxrsignals.net/California/A- ... /Chemical/
Rocket Site Rd.http://www.rxrsignals.net/California/A-C/Boron/Rocket/

Those are the four choices. Enjoy! You may select multiple choices.

Some crossings are nice... However I won't vote on this poll because all crossings have GS bells, which I'm sick and tired of.

Heck, do them all. I was disappointed at the lack of traffic that day anyway.

When I tried to get Boron Ave. in action a couple of years ago, little did I know that they were working on the tracks there.

I have a video that I may upload on YouTube that shows THREE PEOLE going around the gate at a nearby crossing. I may go to all four depending on train traffic. There will be no rush, it will be a drive between Corona and Tehachapi with a possible stop in Bakersfield and Shafter.

Here's one with mechanical bells, but good luck getting a train to cross: http://www.rxrsignals.net/California/A-C/Boron/20/
