Which US region tends to have the best crossing equipment?

Using this map below, which region would you say has the best crossing in general?

Personally, I think the Northeast tends to have the best crossing equipment in general, especially thanks to Conrail using 8 inch lights well into the 1990s.

I marked the West, in particular because of California. There's tons of old equipment out there, such as WABCO triangle gates, US&S teardrop bells, Griswold equipment, you name it! Additionally, a majority of the country's wigwags still in existence are out west as well.

I had to vote for the West also for the same reason. Obviously I moved in the wrong direction....

I voted west even though I live here. Most of the signals in my area are all Safetran/ Invensys/ Siemens with GS Electronic bells, but BNSF has been using variety lately. Two crossings had WCH Electronic bells installed which is great compared to the type-2 GS bells that are everywhere.

I voted Midwest, but I also think the West and Northeast have some of the best crossings. :Grin: :Smile:

i did the same because i have senn a bunch of vintage crossing equiptment on maps and i person in fact there is this one crossi ng that i usually pas about once a week that has a us&s teardrop bell!!!!!!
