Re: I Am Now...(the Official 4449 Thread)
Well boys....4449 is slowly being shaken from her winter slumber due to a last-minute invite to Train Day 2010. The heaters have been removed from the smokebox and firebox and one of the generators needs to be rebuilt and reinstalled. Also necessary is a good bath and she desperately needs fuel and water. Presently there is no water in the tender and only 60 gallons of bunker oil remains, not even enough to fire her up.
The fire will be lit on Wednesday, May 5th and the locomotive will be leaving the roundhouse sometime on the 7th, probably in the afternoon or evening. Anybody in the Portland area or who will be visiting this area is welcome to visit 4449 at Union Station in downtown Portland on the 8th.
National Train Day
May 8th, 2010
10 AM - 4 PM
Portland Union Station
800 NW 6th Ave.
Portland, OR 97209
I will update this as more information becomes available and may correct any information I might have gotten wrong.

You think your car gets bad mileage? SP 4449 consumes 10 gallons of bunker oil and 100 gallons of water every mile.

IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!
4449 is all fired and washed up. She will be leaving the Brooklyn Roundhouse sometime tomorrow and will head for Union Station with a stop at OMSI to pick up a caboose. If you want to see her without the crowds, drop by Union Station tomorrow evening! Chances are I will be there.

Sounds good. Could any pictures/video be taken of the train, and/or at crossings if possible?
