Re: Traffic Lights
"Michigan Lefts" (as these are called) have been growing a bit in popularity across the country, it seems. One was just recently put in not far from me on US 72 out near Ryland.ZachL wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2019 5:01 pmAnd this is another one of those state variances that could literally throw anybody off. Re: Traffic Lights
Howdy y'all, it's been a while hasn't it? There hasn't been much to post about in regards to railroad crossings, so I've been a bit more interested in traffic signals. I was actually looking for some Motor Bells that are so common on bridges across the USA, but I ended up finding this. Here's a pair of vintage signals on a drawbridge on NW 17th Ave on the Miami River (Florida).
The South signal and gate:

The North signal and gate:

Can anybody tell me the make of these signals? I'm a total idiot when it comes to traffic signal manufacturers.

Re: Traffic Lights
The south signal is an 8 inch Crouse-hinds Type M (Nice find there!) and the north signal is a 12 inch Eagle made under Siemens.MapsSurfer wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2020 10:21 pmHowdy y'all, it's been a while hasn't it? Re: Traffic Lights
Why are the backboard of these lights so badly blackened? They've been here over ten years, i expect them to be cleaned...

But these signals installed between 2011-2012 are still completely white...

The peeling paint on this pushbutton really needs to be repainted.

Re: Traffic Lights
Spotted this while browsing California, but why would it be a flashing yellow ball?

Up until 2012, these signals looked like something you'd see out of Australia.

Re: Traffic Lights
I was cycling around my local area earlier today and noticed the traffic lights here seemed to be trying to shut off earlier, never seen something like this before, wonder what was causing it? Traffic lights here I will assume are around 30 years old, since they look like they were installed in the 1980s

Likely a bad neutral in the controller.NathanFromEngland wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 12:05 pmI was cycling around my local area earlier today and noticed the traffic lights here seemed to be trying to shut off earlier, never seen something like this before, wonder what was causing it?
