Traffic Lights

Talk about other non-signal stuff here. Make sure to obey the rules though.

This has everything covered up with louvers!
Those are cages, not louvers. Likely to keep the lights from being damaged by vandals.
Well, did not know what to call it.

Here is a Siemens Mellor with ugly square louvers, they're still there today. RIP those classic PAGE Fibreoptic arrows! :Cry1:

I noticed these traffic lights (Installed in 2011) have some lights for some driveways so they can get out safely without causing an accident. Never saw it in action though. :OhWell:
https://www.google.com/maps/@53.4688892 ... 6656?hl=en
Also this junction (Installed in 2014) has some lights for driveways too. Both the lights visors are curved for some apparent reason.

They got the idea from this junction. The signals were removed in 2014 when they decided the old road that you came in and out to the hospital was gonna become a one way only road. So now you can't turn right or left there!

Those remind me of this intersection here in Huntsville, which has all Peek signals at it:
https://www.google.com/maps/@34.7280239 ... 312!8i6656
If you notice, the signal facing the driveway has two red lights, probably because there's only one signal facing that approach.
https://www.google.com/maps/@34.7281606 ... 312!8i6656

Also, Huntsville had 3M signals years ago, but all of them were removed by the time I can start remembering things. This set-up though still uses the old mounts the 3Ms were mounted on for the McCain signals that are there now:
https://www.google.com/maps/@34.7116794 ... 312!8i6656

There used to be another mast-arm with some ICC signals on these old 3M mounts out in the Five Points neighborhood a few years back, but Huntsville replaced the set-up in 2013 with some McCains and a Peek on a new mast-arm. Here are the old signals before they were replaced:

Siemens had one job with the arrows on this junction near a ASDA store when they upgraded these lights.

Heres what it used to look like.

Ha! Reminds me of these two doghouse traffic lights in Scottsboro, AL:

As far as I know, they're still like that as well!

Spot the odd one out. An LED signal at an intersection with mostly incandescent traffic signals in Narre Warren, VIC.

That is kind of odd, I wonder if the signal before it was damaged?

Seen that a few times here in America. This intersection in Boaz, AL is one such example, with three LED signals while the rest are incandescent:
https://www.google.com/maps/@34.1983727 ... 312!8i6656

And here's one in Hartselle, AL, though it only has two LED signals:
https://www.google.com/maps/@34.4312946 ... 312!8i6656

Also, over in Decatur, AL, the city only initially upgraded their red indications to LEDs at most of the intersections with 12 inch lights, leaving a lot of incandescent yellow and green indications with incandescent 8 inch indications. A few examples:

https://www.google.com/maps/@34.6127049 ... 312!8i6656

https://www.google.com/maps/@34.6003884 ... 312!8i6656

I also own a signal from Decatur in this configuration as well (with just only the red being LED).

And this intersection is the last one in the city to have worded peds!

I doubt we still have any worded pedestrian signals in and around Toledo.

What's also on my mind is why this pubs remains on the left was up for sale, because this was what happened to the building in July 2009.

If you look at this junction behind Asda, there is a right turn signal for a housing estate. It would've been fitted with a flashing yellow arrow, but this isn't Ireland. Would've been cool to see though!

Siemens even had one job on deciding if they wanted filter arrows on this side of these lights.

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.45525 ... 312!8i6656
However, in 2009. The arrows were removed.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.45526 ... 312!8i6656

The arrows for a right turn preemption along with a ahead only arrow looked ugly in my opinion.

Here are some unknown clear LED traffic lights in Dingle pictured in 2008 by Google Street View.
