I know on how Hurricanes can be, being from an area that basically gets a lot of hits when it comes to the terms of land falling tropical storms & hurricanes (Northwest Gulf Coast), the sure devastation that a hurricane can leave behind can leave a lot of life-alternating scenarios that can last for days, weeks, months, years, or even decades.

Like taking for an example of a few storms that made landfall in my area which includes Harvey & Nate 2017, Issac 2012, Gustav & Ike 2008, Katrina & Rita 2005, Allison 2001, and just to name a few.
