Update #868

Post by TommyBNSF » Mon Nov 12, 2018 9:05 pm

1103 new pictures and 15 new videos of 48 new crossings from Bucyrus, OH
120 new pictures of 4 new crossings from Cardington, OH
24 new pictures of 1 new crossing from Carey, OH
144 new pictures and 7 new videos of 6 new crossings from Carlisle, OH
21 new pictures and 8 new videos of 8 updated crossings from Clyde, OH
3 new videos of 3 existing crossings from Green Creek, OH

Most of this update revolved around Bucyrus, which has quite a few neat crossings in it, especially along the CF&E. I also have the first pages from Ohio provided by Ethan the Railfanner, and expect more of those in the future.

Hey, the counter on the front page is incorrect. It should be in the 6000's range, but since the October update, has been in the 2000's.

Great update!

The only 2 Errors I noticed on my pictures:

When I clicked on Union Road #1, It leads me to a dead end page, not the crossing itself.
You need to fix Fairview Drive #1. The Eastern signal has the bell, not the western signal. Also, what on earth is a Siemens E-Bell??

Also, I'll try and at some point get back up to South Ohio and try to get more pictures, as I couldn't get all of them because my dad refused to let me get all the crossings because I had run out of time.

Siemens e-bells and Safetran Type 3 e-bells are the same thing. Tommy just prefers to call the later Safetran Type 3s (made by Invensys Rail and then Siemens) by the manufacturer's name, while I prefer to call them all Safetran Type 3s for simplicity's sake.

Pictures 4 and 12 seem to be missing here:

They/Them for me, please.

All errors fixed. I have no idea how the counter ended up in the 2000s range, but thanks for pointing that.

I looked back at Fairview #1, and it looks like the bell is on the western signal according to your pictures, unless I'm very blind.

And yes, as far as Siemens E Bells, I prefer to stay in line with what manufacturer makes the bells these days. It's the same with Safetran Type 2 E Bells, which are now made by NEG. And it's also a way to distinguish the difference in the base, which happened around the time of the transition to Invensys Rail. The ones with the old style base I refer to as Safetran Type 3s.
