12-28-22 Update

Yes, I know, technically a bit late in posting this, but I've been looking through this absolutely massive update from Ethan for errors, so apologies this is going "live" a few minutes after midnight (as least my time).

Anyways, as stated above, this is the second of the two absolutely massive updates this month, this one from Ethan and focused entirely on the state of Georgia! Several different lines are mostly, if not entirely, documented on the site now, and I believe the majority of the crossings in the state are now on the site as well, though there's still a good few to be documented. Lots of older equipment in this update, even if a fair amount of this stuff has been modernized over the years. Loads of older WCH, Safetran, and WABCO/US&S equipment in this update, along with a fair amount of GRS stuff, RACO equipment, and US&S stuff. If you like seeing early Safetran gate mechs, you'll absolutely love this update as it's just chock full of 'em!

Is the line currently in the process of being upgraded and not in service yet, or did they try to utilize the line and then decide to put some of it up for abandonment? (Rhine and on Eastward most specifically. Lots of new signals that have been upgraded since Streetview went through last, and the relay cases still have power going to them.)

If I recall correctly, the HOG main (and technically the very western end of the GC Savannah Subdivision) was out of service due to a lack of traffic, but the state of Georgia is trying to bring back the intermodal trains that once used that part of the line back in the 2010s, and the line was in the process of being rehabilitated for use when Ethan and I visited back in 2020 and 2021. No idea if it's back into service yet or not though, haven't heard anything either way on it.
