The rare GP40-2W locomotive will be appearing on Atlas's HO scale shelves around January or February and pre-order listings are now available at http://www.dcctrain.com/preorder/shop/c ... ortby=name. Only 4 Railroad companies are available on the HO scale GP40-2W. Canadian National, GO Transit, Huron Central, and Guilford Rail System, plus a Undecorated Early and late version. 2 Different editions are available, Gold and Silver.

Both editions have these features:

This GP40-2(W) model features all new tooling for the sill, cab, long hood and fuel tank. There are many prototype-specific and separately-applied details, including:

Two Rear of Long Hood Styles: CN (single light w/o number boards) and GO Transit (dual lights w/number boards and class lights).
3,000 Gallon Fuel Tank
CN-Style Lighted Ditch Lights (optional)
Snow Shields (optional)
Round or Square Sand Fill Hatches
Cab-Mounted Bell
Three-Chime Air Horn Mounted on Cab or Long Hood
Etched Metal Radiator Fan Grilles
Also includes “standard” features of the GP40-2 model:

Golden-white LEDs
Realistic die-cast underframe
Five-pole skewed armature motor with dual flywheels for optimum performance at all speeds
