Re: Safetran Systems 2009 Price List
No wonder why GS and WCH lead the market in electronic bells! Seems as though the only way railroads can afford the type 2 and 3 bells are only when the FRA pays for them, when upgrading crossings.
Seems as though Safetran is still selling the Type 2 bells as well, even though $447 seems quite a bit more in price than a GS or WCH electronic bell. They must have something in them that may seem to make the bells so much more valuable.
The type 3 at $509 is a bit high priced... That sensor they put in the bell had better be worth the price.
Another cool surprise was that Safetran still sells the 8" and 12" fading LEDs (models FLX-10 and FLX-12). $350 for a 12" LED is a bit high IMO. $500 for a FLX-4000 Dialight LED looks very cool, but is a bit too high for my tastes.
Also listed are the incandescent lights which are $17 and $18. WAY lower than any LED Safetran sells.
Safetran has got a lot of cool stuff, but the cost.....
I'll be posting this information on my 102 page Tomorrow.

Keep in mind that is the "public price". The big buyers probably pay 40% of that price when they buy 3000 at a time.

Re: Safetran Systems 2009 Price List
I do have a slight correction notice...
I thought that the FLX-10 and FLX-12 were the LED models, but they aren't. Those are the 8" and 12" Incandescent models.
The LEDs are the FLX-1000 and 2000 models. I'm sure the FLX-1000 is still in production, because Arizona got them very recently. They do show the 2000 on the price form, but no pricing is listed elsewhere. Very strange....

I wonder what WCH and Ansaldo/US&S's prices are for their bells.
