Monsoon TV Specials

Post by Smjh1979 » Fri May 29, 2009 9:59 pm

Here are some dates on potential TV specials for the upcoming Monsoon 2009 season.

Ind. KTVK Channel 3: June 10, 2009 @ 6:30 PM, and June 13, 2009 @ 5:30 PM.
CBS KPHO Channel 5: June 15, 2009 @ 7:00 PM, June 24, 2009 @ 7:00 PM.
NBC KPNX Channel 12: Didn't participate this year.
ABC KNXV Channel 15: June 7, 2009 @ 8:30 PM, June 11, 2009 @ 9:00 PM, June 13, 2009 @ 4:00 PM, June 14 @ 12:35 AM, and June 20 @ 5:30 AM.

The date announced for channel 3 is earlier than last year. The first special didn't air until June 15. Others lasted into late June or early July.

The reasoning is because this season is looking to start early, and stronger than normal. I'll create another topic for that later on.

Some stations stream these specials online. If you're interested in seeing them online, let me know, and I'll post links to them once the specials have aired.

Note: Ind. stands for independent.

The ABC15 Monsoon special for some weird reason aired from 8:40 PM to 9:10 PM on the June 7 showing for some weird reason.

It didn't show the forecast for the monsoon outlook, so I'd skip watching any of the repeats of this special, and stick with channel 3 and 5.

The channel 3 season was a bit more informative. They said the forecast was supposed to be wet at first, with a possible early end to the monsoon in late August (at least for the Phoenix area). It's unknown what'll happen in my neck of the woods, but hopefully we'll get a lot more than 50% of normal, like the last 2 years...

All Monsoon specials have ended, so this topic is done with.
