Hmm, I'd say that line right there is out of service.chris96 wrote:Burrard St, Vancouver, BC, Canada:

Found this crossing in Clifton, New Jersey. At first I thought it didn't have a bell, but it has a teardrop lurking in the shadows. I checked back through this thread and in the signal pictures but couldn't find the crossing, so I apologise if it has been posted already.

Even without the bell it's a nice looking crossing with 8 inch lights, sadly it looks as though the track sees very few trains, if any.

Yea, according to some railfans who live there (I believe two of which are on this forum), the line doesn't really see any traffic anymore. In fact, it ends once you get into New York, IIRC.McK&H.Aust wrote:Found this crossing in Clifton, New Jersey. At first I thought it didn't have a bell, but it has a teardrop lurking in the shadows. Found this one in Blue Mound, Illinois along the NS line. The image is 3 years old... I wonder if it is still there?

Looks like the gong is broken?cabman701 wrote:Found this one in Blue Mound, Illinois along the NS line. The image is 3 years old... I wonder if it is still there?

It could still be there as I've seen Teardrops remain in service with broken rain shields, but that's a broken rain shield, not a broken gong like this one.

That's around the corner from where this relic used to be.

This one in Grand Rapids, Ohio has been posted before. But upon closer inspection, I believe that this is a Union Teardrop bell! Again, I'm not 100% sure. If it happens to be one, someone near the area needs to check the crossing out!

Metro, why do you keep removing Mechanical bells?!
