Seems like a new CSX heritage unit was suddenly retired with no source of explanation. (CSX 1776)
Another Heritage unit has also been retired (CSX 527)
CSX Locomotive Roster Update As of 01 April 2019

Welcome to this month’s CSX Locomotive Roster Update! This update covers all changes discovered since 01 March, 2019.

This report represents to the best of our knowledge, the working CSX locomotive roster. There are always changes we are not yet aware of – if you think you’ve spotted a new repaint, let us know!

This month’s update is another smaller one, with a handful of repaints, and another of the SD50-2s off the roster. We have two heritage-related changes, with the 527 receiving a sticker and the 1776 being a wholly new repaint and number, coming from the 3112.

No additional news on the upcoming SD70 rebuild program, nor the SD70ACe-T4s, but both shouldn’t be too far into the future now.

Any questions? Comment below!

Doesn't sound like it was retired, more like they were noting that CSX had renumbered an engine from 3112 to 1776. The other's are just repaints or other changes, such as 527 (temporarily renumbered to 576 for a special event in Nashville) getting a sticker on it. Only one engine was retired, which I've put into bold below:

...I always thought the list mean't retired, i seem to get it now

But why "Temporarily" renumber a locomotive for a special event?

Honestly? I have no idea. What's even funnier is that the actual CSX 576 had been run through the area on a train to Memphis earlier, which they could've just pulled-off from the train and used instead.

If I had to guess though, CSX 576 wasn't due in the paint shop anytime before the event, while 527 was, so they gave 527 the NC&StL sticker and used him instead.
They/Them for me, please.

Seems CSX put the hammer down on more retirements, SW1500's and SW1001's are no longer used altogether by CSX
To top it off, only 2 SD50-2's only exist now.
And some wrecked locomotives were also retired too.
CSX Locomotive Roster Update As of 01 May 2019

Welcome to this month’s CSX Locomotive Roster Update! This update covers all changes discovered since 01 April, 2019.

This report represents to the best of our knowledge, the working CSX locomotive roster. There are always changes we are not yet aware of – if you think you’ve spotted a new repaint, let us know!

This month’s update is another larger one, with a multitude of retirements, mostly around bad actors and units with major issues such as blown up prime movers.

We have reported on the new ST70AHs aka SD70ACe-T4s, coming soon in the 8900-8909 group. Those will be added to our roster listing as they are reported as delivered, per our usual delivery custom.

Seem's like CSX still has some strong fighters in their YN2 remainders section, but until they can grab their hands on them they won't be going anywhere.

GP60's and RP20CD's are no longer part of the CSX roster, although CSX has had their 10 ST70AH's delivered.
CSX Locomotive Roster Update As of 01 July 2019

Welcome to this month’s CSX Locomotive Roster Update! This update covers all changes discovered since 01 May, 2019. There was no update in June due to a lack of changes to report.

This report represents to the best of our knowledge, the working CSX locomotive roster. There are always changes we are not yet aware of – if you think you’ve spotted a new repaint, let us know!

This update is par for the course as of late, with a few more retirements and now, the addition of the 10-unit order for ST70AHs. The last Genset and GP60s leave the roster, and we’re down to just 8 SD60s remaining. With the completed delivery of all ten ST70Ahs, CSX currently has no new power on order. They’re also CSX’s first new EMDs in 15 years, and their first from Muncie, Indiana.

Any questions? Comment below!

Just a little heads up, CSX are apparently according to this video using the ST70AH's for use on the Bone Valley Subdivision in Florida.

Nothing much happened for CSX since July, though the only retirements were 9 road slugs.
Ahh, a long-awaited roster update!

CSX Locomotive Roster Update As of 01 October 2019

Welcome to this month’s CSX Locomotive Roster Update! This update covers all changes discovered since 01 July, 2019. There have been no updates since July 1 due to a lack of changes to report.

This report represents to the best of our knowledge, the working CSX locomotive roster. There are always changes we are not yet aware of – if you think you’ve spotted a new repaint, let us know!

In this update: another batch of RDSLUGs sold off; First SD70AC rebuilds hit the road; First CW44AC/H rebuild sighted. Do note that the model designation is not final, but CM44AH seems most probable. Will update if it changes.

Any questions? Comment below!

CSX retired some of it's Dash 8's/9's, as for the rest are just GP38/40-2's and more switchers. a SD70AC had it's electronics rebuilt for unknown reasons. Three slugs were retired, one of them is to be sold for scrap.

IIRC, the SD70MAC rebuild is a program that I believe CSX is experimenting with for their SD70MAC fleet.

Unfortunately, from what I understand, like the unrebuilt SD70MACs, the rebuilt ones lack the ability to lead a train with DPUs...
They/Them for me, please.
