Believe it or not, these gateless very gateless signals directly replaced some crossbucks back in the early 2010s! Based on the equipment, I suspect these were installs sometime between 2012 and 2014, inclusive.

Not entirely sure why CSX chose to install gateless signals here, especially since this is a decently busy mainline, but I ain't complaining! Would love to see more gateless installs like this go up myself.

The signals are also rather unique due to the location of the bells on the front sides of the masts. Normally, they'd be on the side away from the road, but CSX chose to install them like this for some reason.
