The Leotek LEDs first started appearing in 2015
on some CSX crossings, at first alongside 2nd Gen WCH LEDs, and now CSX
seems to use these as their primary LED. Omnitrax has also been
using these on some railroads, including Illinois Railnet and the NOW
Railroad. Most installations use WCH frames though. Leotek offers 2 versions of their LEDs; the EV
series and the IL series. The EV (Extended View) series is what
has been seen on CSX and Omnitrax, and is very similar to 2nd Gen WCH
LEDs, except they don't protrude outward as much, and there is no
cluster of
lights in the center of the module. The IL (Incandescent Look)
series is very similar
to the Low Wattage Dialight LEDs. So far, none of the IL Series
have been
seen in service. There are 4 versions of the EV series for sale. • TSL-12RCS-EVW-E1-CC with White Side Lights
(9.8 wattage drawn, as opposed to 10 with the other 3) There are 2 versions of the IL series for sale. • TSL-12RCS-ILR-E1 with Red Side Lights Temperature ranges for both series ranges from -40°C to +70°C (-40°F to +160°F), and operate from 8 to 20 volts D.C. and 8 to 16 A.C. |
