Miller Ingenuity (WCH) 2nd Generation LEDs are the current LEDs offered by Miller Ingenuity, and are part of their "EveRRay" product line. They have been around since the late 2000s, and saw usage by Class 1 railroads such as CSX, KCS, and UP. This LED is still popular with smaller railroads and light rail systems.

Although both look quite similar, this LED has noticeably more individual LEDs than GE's Pixelated Look LED. The quickest way to tell the two apart is by examining the center of the light. Miller Ingenuity 2nd Generation LEDs have 7 individual LEDs surrounding the center, while GE Pixelated Look LEDs only have 5.

Like their 1st Generation LEDs, Miller Ingenuity's 2nd Generation LEDs experienced gasket failures, at least initially. Miller Ingenuity would redesign their 2nd Generation LEDs in 2020 to eliminate this issue, although you'll still find older 2nd Generation LEDs that have fallen into the light head.

This type of LED tends to fade or strobe on video cameras. The Miller Ingenuity 2nd Generation LED does not behave this way in real life. This effect is due to the LED's Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM).

As of May 2026, the Miller Ingenuity 2nd Generation LED only comes in a 12" form.

Miller Ingenuity 2nd Generation LEDs operate on 8-14 Volts DC and 8-14 Volts AC.

There are 2 variants of this LED sold by Miller Ingenuity, the prices of which are not known:

> 3010-500-02 ~ 12" EveRRay LED w/ Regulated Power Supply
> 3010-500-04 ~ 12" EveRRay LED w/ Current Limiting Resistors

Fun Fact: According to Miller Ingenuity, there are over 125,000 of these LEDs in service! That equates to 15,000+ railroad crossings with 1 or more Miller Ingenuity 2nd Generation LEDs at them!
