To the north of this crossing, the line is just used for car storage for about half a mile before the "active" portion of the line ends and the tracks are torn up (and turned into a rail trail).

Once upon a time, this was the Nashville & Decatur Railroad Mainline, and the tracks here would've originally connected to Bennett Drive in Pulaski, TN on what's now the Tennessee Southern Railroad, but after the L&N took over the N&D, they built their own mainline to the east, and bypassed much of the former N&D. It was kept open for several more decades, but eventually, the L&N abandoned the section between Pulaski, TN and Athens, AL, creating essentially two branch lines at either end of the abandonment.
