Overviews of the crossing. |
The first signal. |
||
It's a Modern Industries cantilever. |
The emergency information. |
The mast lights are 12x24 inch Modern Industries incandescent lights. |
|
The overhead lights are 12x20 inch Modern Industries incandescent lights. |
The bell is a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell. |
||
The second signal. |
A Fabricated Metals base. |
The emergency information. |
|
All of the lights on this signal are 12x24 inch Safetran incandescent lights. |
Track view facing south towards Green Street. |
||
The extra pairs of lights in pictures 13, 14, and 17 are to allow traffic to see the lights around the trees in picture 14. However, the trees grew since they were installed, so it's very hard to see the lights.
Track view facing north towards Market Street. |
The relay case. |
On a return trip on 12-31-13, it was discovered that all of the lights had been upgraded to WCH 2nd Generation LEDs. |
Action shots. |
A return trip on 3-18-19 shows a few changes to the crossing, but not to the signals themselves (outside of new ENS signs). |
|
A few new signal foundations are located around the crossing!
Also, as seen in Picture 33, the trees in front of the mast signal were cut-down. |
|||
Over the summer of 2019, the new gated signals were installed by CSX, though only the replacement cantilever for the MI cantilever was activated at first, but the new NEG e-bell was located on the opposite side of the crossing.
As such, between the signal installation and the activation of the remaining signals, the GS Type 1 from the old signals was re-used onto the new cantilever, which can be seen in this video by CameraBryan.
Unfortunately, when the rest of the signals were activated and the gate arms were installed, CSX removed the GS Type 1 from the crossing, only leaving the NEG e-bell as the only bell here.
On 10-16-19, I finally made my way back out to this crossing to document the new signals. |
|
The first cantilever, which replaced the mast signal with four pairs of lights. |
It's a Progress Rail cantilever. |
The emergency information. Not sure why the DOT number begins with an N on this sign. |
|
It has a Siemens gate mechanism. |
The mast lights are WCH 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs on a Progress Rail bracket. |
||
The overhead lights are the same as the mast lights. |
The lone NEG e-bell sits atop this signal. |
This signal uses RECO LED gate lights. |
|
The second cantilever signal, which replaced the old MI cantilever. |
It's another Progress Rail cantilever. |
The emergency information. |
|
It has another Siemens gate mechanism. |
The mast lights are another set of WCH 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs on a Progress Rail bracket. |
||
And, like with the other cantilever, the overhead lights are more of the same. |
More RECO LED gate lights here. |
|
The first pedestrian signal. |
|
It has a WCH base. |
Yet another Siemens gate mechanism over here. |
A WCH bracket. |
Even more WCH 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs over here. |
The gate lights on this signal are NEG LED gate lights. |
|
The second pedestrian signal. |
|
It has the exact same equipment as the other one. |
||
It appears that CSX is currently using RECO LED gate lights for their cantilevers, but NEG LED gate lights for their mast signals.
The new relay case. |
Track views. |
|
The crossing activates! |
|
A northbound intermodal train flies through with a single CSX ES44AH leading. |
|||
The train passes, with another CSX ES44AH pushing on the rear. |
|||
After a little while, the gates begin to rise. |
