Track views. Yes, that is a caboose in picture 32. |
A return trip on 10-9-15 shows that the Safetran Type 3 was replaced with a General Signals Type 3 e-bell. Nothing else had been changed at the crossing. |
A second return trip on 6-22-16 catches the crossing in action! |

NS A12 then proceeds through the crossing. |

Track view looking south towards the mainline and AL 33. |
Track view looking north towards Alt. US 72/AL 20. |
For some reason, NS aimed the new lights on the signals on the left-hand side of the road (Signals 2 and 4 at the top of the page) straight forwards while the lights on the signals on the right-hand side of the road (Signals 1 and 3 at the top of the page) were aimed towards the left-hand side of the road.
The old lights were aimed the opposite way, so I'm not sure why NS would do it this way for the new lights. Just seems dangerous to me.
A fifth return trip on 10-13-17 catches the crossing in action, though NS A12 didn't proceed through the crossing while I was there on this trip... |
A sixth return trip on 10-19-17 catches the crossing in action again... |
...with NS A12 finally being caught going through it! |
An RP-E4D Yard Slug! |
The train eventually clears the crossing. |
For some reason, there are four signals here with one pair of front lights each.
