The poster in Picture 52 listed three crossings that were being considered for closing: College Street, this crossing, and Water Street. While College Street and this crossing were closed, Water Street wasn't and probably won't be for another while at least.

The gates rise one final time.
A final return trip on 8-27-16 shows that the signals and relay case have been removed. They will get re-used at Jackson Street.

 

As far as I know, this is the first NS crossing on the NS Memphis District to be fully upgraded to LEDs.

No matter which direction the train is coming from, this crossing was always the last crossing in downtown Courtland to activate.
