This crossing is located on the NS East End District.
Overviews of the crossing, which features a nice 1990s NS install. |
|
The first signal, which looks rather odd! |
It has a Safetran base. |
A Safetran gate mechanism. |
|
The emergency information. |
The lights are all Safetran 12x20 inch lights. |
||
This signal has a Safetran mechanical bell! |
The gate lights are from NEG. |
|
For whatever reason, when NS installed the above signal, they chose not to install any sidelights on it! However, I don't really mind, as it makes the signal look rather unique, IMHO.
This is probably also how the one signal in Napier Field should've looked as well, but I still love how that signal only has one pair of rear lights on it.
The second signal, which is much more standard-looking. |
It has another Safetran base. |
Another Safetran gate mechanism. |
|
The emergency information. |
It has more Safetran 12x20 inch lights. |
||
This signal has another Safetran mechanical bell! |
More NEG gate lights over here. |
The relay case. |
|
Looking northeast towards Depot Street. |
Looking southwest towards Truss Ferry Road in Pell City. |
An approach-lit intermediate signal stands next to the crossing. |
The signals activate! |
||||
NS 186 comes flying through with an ET44AC leading a Dash-9. |
|||
Another Dash-9 and another ET44AC work as the mid-train DPUs. |
|||
The train passes and the signals deactivate. |
