This crossing is located on the BNSF Birmingham Subdivision.
An overview of this rather classic crossing on 9-20-19. These signals appear to have been old Frisco ones, likely re-used from either AL 17 or US 278 in Guin. There were no bells on either signal here, at the time. |
The first signal. |
It had a Transport Products Corp. gate mechanism! |
The emergency information. |
The lights on this signal were RACO 8 inch lights! |
The second signal. |
It had another Transport Products Corp. gate mechanism! |
The lights on this signal were more RACO 8 inch lights! |
The relay case. |
A return trip to the crossing on 3-21-21 finds that the signals here were replaced! |
The first new signal. |
It has a Siemens gate mechanism. |
The lights on this signal are all Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Dialight Ball LEDs. |
This signal has a General Signals electronic bell. |
This signal uses RECO gate lights. |
The second new signal. |
It has another Siemens gate mechanism. |
The lights on this signal are more Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Dialight Ball LEDs. |
This signal has another General Signals electronic bell on it. |
More RECO gate lights over here. |
The relay case. |
Didn't get any track views or close-ups of the equipment due to the fact this crossing is well into private property for an industry of some kind, and I didn't feel like trying to have an encounter with security while here.
To the west is Elm Street. To the east is CR 49 in Beaverton.
Pictures 1-9 were taken on 9-20-19.
Pictures 10-21 were taken on 3-21-21.
