Here's a broad view of 59th Avenue. When passing through the crossing, I saw train lights, but didn't think it would cross, but as soon as I park, the signals start.

All lights are 12"x24", and L.E.D. The left light is barely lit because of my position. The "TRAIN ACTIVATES SIGN" was NOT lit. I checked.

The train was still chugging along slowly during this shot.

Still moving...Until another 30 seconds when it stopped for about 2 minutes, it backed up a little, stopped again, crawled forward a few feet, stopped for 3 minutes again, then went North towards the Wickenburg area.

I don't understand why there were double lights facing the same way as shown in picture 1. Neither of the two lights have rear lights. None of the other signals have this.

This signal protects Glendale Ave for people making a right turn. Note another "TRAIN ACTIVATES SIGN" light again.

These first 5 pictures were taken on February 12, 2004 by me.

Facing Northwest towards the Myrtle Ave. crossing.

Facing SouthEast.

Facing Northwest again, but something's coming...

This crossing has undergone a major change since 2004. Grand Ave. (US 60) now goes underneath 59th & Glendale, eliminating the 3-way intersection and changing it back to a more tolerable 2-way intersection.

You can see an additional mast signal in pictures 7 and 9 for additional protection on Glendale Ave. Why this was added is unknown.

I wonder why BNSF is using Harmon cantilevers and not Safetran anymore?

This rail-car didn't activate the signals when it crossed, although I think it should've.

The closest signal is on 59th Avenue.

You can see that one of the cantilevers on both 59th Ave. and Glendale Ave. have only one pair of 12"x24" lights on the mast, while the other on each street has 2 pairs. Why this was done is not known.

Facing in the direction of 59th Ave.

Even though the cantilevers are from Harmon, the 12"x24" lights are from Safetran and likely have GS L.E.D. lights in them.
