Overviews of the crossing. |
The first signal. |
||
It's a Safetran cantilever. |
The emergency information. |
The mast lights are all Safetran 8 inch lights! |
|
The overhead lights are more Safetran 8 inch lights! Dunno why the side lights are up here but there aren't any rear overhead lights. |
The lone bell here is a Safetran mechanical bell! |
||
A Safetran base. |
A Siemens gate mechanism. |
This signal has NEG gate lights. |
Also interesting that a Southern Railway of this install featured an all 8 inch cantilever, as they'd already started to use 12 inch overhead lights by then.
Also of note is that originally, the mast signal here (which was replaced with the current one seen below) had the only pair of 12 inch lights at the crossing before NS upgraded the masts here.
In fact, the one pair of 12 inch lights here originally was only the side lights on the mast signal, which were a pair of Safetran 12x24 inch lights. Certainly looked weird paired-up with 8 inch main lights.
The second signal. |
It has another Safetran base. |
Another Siemens gate mechanism. |
|
The emergency information. |
The lights are all Safetran 12x20 inch lights. |
More NEG gate lights over here. |
|
The relay case. |
Looking northeast towards Maple Avenue. |
Looking southwest towards Darlington Drive. |
The crossing activates! |
||
A southbound NS grain train comes through with an NS Dash-9 leading an SD70ACe and an AC44C6M! |
|||
The train passes... |
||
...and the gates rise. |
