This crossing is located on the Midwest Central Railroad which is
inside the county fairgrounds in Mt. Pleasant.

The
lone pedestrian gate. This is the first time I've seen one of
these FS ped gates with a bell, and the first time I've seen one with a
gate light. Very, very nice to see this in the fairgrounds.
A return
visit by Hopen111 shows that the path was widened to accomodate road
vehicles, and as such, a new signal was installed. In this case, an EM
signal was installed! The funny thing about this now, is that the
Federal Signal gate in Galva outlasted one at a museum. I never
would've believed if you told me before.

Here was
the same EM signal before it was restored. It was missing the Safetran
mechanical
bell that
it currently has which may have come from somwhere else.
A return visit in September 2024 shows
the gate has now been installed! ...aaand it doesn't work!
Oh yeah also one of the light bulbs have stopped working!

The EM signal.
Basically everything about this is completely fricked. The gate lights
are constantly stuck on, and the crossing bell activates way before the
lights do, and on top of that, the gate now doesn't even try to lower!

The new grade is all
wood.

the gate doesn't lower.

The crossing in
action again later! Now facing west at the crossing.
The gate still doesn't work and the gate lights weren't fixed after
this activation.
It definitely feels like this crossing gets worse somehow with every
year that passes...
I searched the grounds for the old pedestrian gate and couldn't find
it. My best guess is they either donated it or got it stored in a
restricted area at the Locomotive Shed.
