Pictures 1-42 were taken on November 5, 2024, by RailfanRXR.
This crossing is located on the CSX Rumford Branch.
Page created by RailfanRXR (using HopenRXRTools 1.3.0).
Curtis Corner is an intersection of four roads: Bog Rd, Bishop Hill Rd, Camaro Dr, and Curtis Corner Rd.
These signals were installed around 1982 replacing 2 gateless signals supposedly without any bells.
This
crossing needs gates badly. The one time I saw a train here, not a
single person stopped for the lights until the train was over the road
and they couldn't drive in front of it. Plus almost every video of this
crossing online shows at least one person trying to beat the train.

| The WABCO relay case. | The
destroyed grade, made of rubber (in the center) and asphalt. This is
probably the worst grade in the state, and CSX still hasn't resurfaced
it. If you hear a trailer go over this thing you'll think a bomb went
off next to you. | Track view facing north towards Jennings Rd. | Track view facing south towards Alden Rd. |
