These signals were installed in the late 1990s by the short-lived New Hampshire and Vermont Railroad. There are a few oddities to note - One light on the northern cantilvever mast is oddly a WCH frame with a WCH clear LED, which I have no idea how ended up here. Secondly, the FRA inventory lists the milepost as 107.74 (from Portland, Maine, the old MEC milepost for the line), but the milepost number on the relay case is 13.0, as measured from Groveton, and is also marked by a concrete milepost near the case, as the crossing sits right on the 13 mile mark. Also note the reused metal power supply pole from the previous install here (mast signals with lights and no bell, per FRA reports).

As of late 2024, occasional New Hampshire Central revenue freight has returned to the Groveton Branch after a 5-year abscence, operating to Hazens in Whitefield, as well as equipment moves to/from Conway Scenic Railroad. Note the train count is a guesstimate based on past data.
