In June 2022, a storm came through the area, and a bolt of lightning struck a power line near the crossing. Somehow, this caused a train to snag on the power lines and knock down several poles and the southern signal of the crossing. Afterwards, NS installed a new Siemens signal on the south, and the northern signal was kept and its lights upgraded to LED. Click here to see an article on the incident.
