Also known as the center population of Ohio, Mt. Gilead serves as Morrow County's seat and was established in 1832 and is currently adjecent to Edison, which is west of here. CSX currently runs a spur through this town, though previously, the T&OC (later the NYC) had a route that ran between Toledo and Thurston.
