Not related, but while looking at Pat Metheny's album, Imaginary Day, i noticed that if you look at the first two rows, you can see crossbucks.

Father Figures has a scene in which Kyle (Owen Wilson) and Peter (Ed Helms) have a fight in the car after an argument which results in the car keys being thrown out of the car, nevertheless they are not aware that they are on train tracks, although the hitchhiker they have in the backseat (Katt Williams) tries to warn about the danger, Peter and the hitchhiker just make it out of the car, however Kyle can't get out in time and the car is struck by the train.

Re: signals in the media
I found this video in which a stolen ex-ambulance crashed through level crossing barriers until the driver abandoned it and narrowly avoided getting obliterated by a train.
As far as i know, the ambulance was on flatbed truck that was converted into a campervan with three other occupants being in it, it crashed head on into a car which killed the car passenger. The driver then took the ambulance on a chase which eventually was abandoned and narrowly avoiding being hit by a train. The ambulance was stolen from someones property but i do not know whether it some sort of ex-emergency vehicle dealership.

Dash-cam footage of a driver smashing a decommissioned ambulance through a railway barrier before nearly colliding with a passing train has been released by police.
The footage, which was captured from a police car chasing the vehicle, showed driver Shane Hughes stop just inches from the train as it passed at 70mph, in Kildwick, North Yorkshire.
Hughes, 41, of Ramsgate Street, Halifax, was sentenced at Bradford Crown Court to 22 months in prison.

In Driving Miss Daisy, there's a brief scene where they drive over tracks and you can see the signals and bell. It's about 2:33 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqUC-KP2YYs&t=187s
Also in Keeping Up Appearances, on the QEII episode (1993 Christmas special) Hyacinth and Richard get caught at a railroad crossing on the way to the dock. You can see the gates go up and down plus the lights and signal. It's not on YouTube so I don't have a link.

It must have been upgraded not too long after the movie was filmed, considering the cantilevers that are there.
Crossing pictures from Plant City, FL are finally here! viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2538

Re: signals in the media
Movie is from 1989, and the signals were installed by NS in the mid-1990s. So around 5-6ish years after the movie came out...ZachL wrote:Here's the crossing today:ColeD wrote:In Driving Miss Daisy, there's a brief scene where they drive over tracks and you can see the signals and bell. (In fact, I think you can see an NS engine hanging out in the background of the scene.)

Murder She Wrote: South by Southwest was filmed along an Amtrak line, and it might show railroad crossings, but I can't remember. It's not on Youtube either though.
