Equipment Xing?

Post by chris96 » Wed Jul 07, 2021 3:26 am

Just stumbled upon this in Winter Haven, Florida. It's a crossing that was originally active, but has since been downgraded to a passive setup. However, next to the crossing is a sign I've never seen before reading "Equipment Xing". I have no idea what this is referring to. Anyone have any ideas?

Probably related to the WESCO facility right next to the crossing. Sign basically warns drivers that unspecified equipment (such as forklifts) may be going across the street there and to stop if necessary. That's why the Equipment Crossing signs on the other side are so far back from the tracks (though it appears the one on the left in the first link's supposed to face the other way, given the third even further down the street in the second link):

They/Them for me, please.
