A crossing closed off in the Port of Long Beach CA

as of last year it seems this crossing has been closed off by the city of Long Beach.

I loved that crossing. It was one of the busiest in the port.

Wonder why the crossing got closed off for? Too many accidents? Overpass project? Clearly there has to be a reason they closed it off.
Proud owner of a safetran mechanical bell and Griswold mechanical bell along with a pair of safetran 12x20 lights and a 8 inch light. Been a fan of trains since I was little. Main place I railfan on, The Sedalia Sub.

Trains stopped at the crossing for sometimes an hour at a time. They decided to close it because it was faster in most cases just to go over the bridge .5 miles back.
