BNSF Brush Sub Upgrades

BNSF has been working on upgrading their "older" crossings on the Brush Sub, which goes from Denver to Messex. The line has not had any mechanical bells since at least 2012/13, but still retains a lot of incandescent lights and a couple of GS Type 1s. When I went out to Brush to see family a couple weeks ago, I noticed that BNSF was about to replace two crossings with new signals; CO 52 in Wiggins, and Main St. in Ft. Morgan. CO 52 used to have 12x20 inch WCH signals with a GS type 1. Main St. used to have 12x20 inch WRRS signals that replaced wigwags in the 80s. Main St. also had median signals, GS LEDs, and a GS Type 1, making it my personal favorite crossing on the Brush Sub. When I was there, there were new Siemens signals laying on the ground near both crossings. I also noticed that a crossing in Messex that used to have crossbucks also got upgraded to signals.

Thought I'd add to this. BNSF is working on replacing more crossings along the Brush Sub. The first crossing that's going to be replaced is County Rd. 26 (http://www.rxrsignals.com/Colorado/A-F/Brush/26/). There was a new relay case at the crossing when I was last there. I haven't gotten the update video uploaded yet, so I can't really show you what it looks like there. Another crossing that's gonna be replaced is County Rd. 29 (http://www.rxrsignals.com/Colorado/A-F/Brush/29/). While nothing has changed at the actual crossing itself, in BNSF's Brush Yard, I saw a new relay case with the emergency info sign on it saying "County Rd. 29" and having the DOT number for said crossing. It is unknown when both will be replaced, but I assume CR 26 will be replaced by this summer and CR 29 may not be worked on for a little bit.
