So, his log truck just happened to lose brakes just before the crossing?
Appears that he was trying to beathe train and realized athe last momenthat he was too late.

Log truck drivers are paid by the load. Time = money so they drive as fast as possible and hate delays of any kind.
Hauling dirt, I was paid by the load. Boss told me to keep the dump truck throttle floored whenever possible.
(Did not speed, but got up to speed as quickly as possible.)
I'm now self-employed but my boss is a moron.
My life is an open book. Unfortunately, I'm illiterate.
My patients' arrhythmias straighten themselves out!!

Of course, if they just happened NOT to fail, the news would have reported that.
